This is a list of recognitions, grants, and awards Arizona State Parks has received.
The "Culturekeepers" program was started in 2003 specifically to recognize individuals and groups from across the state who have made a positive impact on Arizona's history, culture, environment or economy. They are pioneers of our State because of their entrepreneurial spirit, civic leadership or outstanding contributions to a cause that is distinctly Arizona. Katherine Kierland Herberger and State Historian Marshall Trimble were the visionaries behind the program.
Working in conjunction with the Sharlot Hall Museum, the Arizona Historical Society and Marshall Trimble, the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa designed the Culturekeepers program to recognize 10 individuals during an annual event every year so that by the state's centennial in 2012, 100 Culturekeepers will have been honored at the resort.
On Sunday, September 11, 2011, the Arizona Site Steward Program was recognized as Culturekeepers for their work over the last 25 years in site monitoring and public education - Saving our Sites and Preserving Our Past. In addition, Gwen Setalla, a ranger at Homolovi State Park, and her family, were also honored as Culturekeepers for their work in preserving Hopi pottery tradition.
Arizona State Parks, Yavapai County, Town of Jerome, and Jerome Historical Society: A Partnership Nomination for the Stabilization of Douglas Mansion at Jerome State Historic Park. Presented at the 2011 Arizona Public Archaeology and Heritage Preservation conference held at the University Park Marriott in Tucson on June 24
Jerome’s Douglas Mansion suffered a severe threat to the operation of the state park and to the safety of employees and the public when large sections of the original cement plaster and support beams fell to the ground. Arizona State Parks, the Town of Jerome, Jerome Historical Society, and Yavapai County worked together along with other partners to raise the funds necessary and to see the rehabilitation work completed to reopen — for all of our benefit — this important local landmark and state park.
In collaboration with our partners, the Arizona Watchable Wildlife Foundation, the Arizona Game & Fish Department and Bureau of Land Management, the Foundation received 50,000 Watchable Wildlife brochures which will be distributed statewide. The printing of the four-color brochures was funded by Geico.
SHPO staff member Bob Frankenberger recevied special recognition for his participation on the Hoover Dam Bypass Project Design Advisory Panel.
April 2011: Cattail Cove SP Wins 2011 RVWest's Reader's Choice AwardCattail Cove State Park has won the Bronze Award for Favorite Snowbird RV Park or Campground - Arizona in the 5th Annual Reader’s Choice Awards presented by RVWest magazine. These winners were chosen by the magazine's readers; thus, they represent RVers' favourite places, attractions and other RV-related stuff. Congratulations to Cattail Cove! See other winners 
On March 3, 2011, Kartchner Caverns State Park (with the Huachuca Astronomy Club) and Alamo Lake State Park (with the Astronomers of Verde Valley) were the first state parks in the United States to be granted the "One Star at a Time" award and became a member of the the Global Star Park Network. This award acknowledges the public stargazing events held at both parks in an effort to increase awareness of astronomy and preserving dark skies for future generations. The awards were presented by the StarLight Initiative, the One Star at a Time organization and Astronomers Without Borders. The Global Star Park Network aims to protect night environments, educate the public, and improve human habitat.
Agency received an Odwalla Inc. grant for $1,300 to plant a Pear Orchard at Slide Rock State Park.
Tonto Natural Bridge State Park won Best of the Rim Country, Best Place to Hike, Best Historical Site.
The Arizona Humanities Council awarded Arizona State Parks a cultural tourism grant of $7,250 to be a partner in the
Grand Re-opening celebration of Homolovi State Park.
Received $5,000 grant from Coca-Cola Company for recycled bags to be used for recycling at the parks.
October 2010: Rural Economic Development AwardThe 2010 Governor’s Regional and Rural Development Conference was held October 14-15, 2010 in Flagstaff at the High Country Conference Center. The conference focused on Arizona's economic recovery with the theme "Economic Gardening: Cultivating a More Competitive Arizona." Arizona State Parks received the Rural Economic Development Award. The award recognized the Verde Valley State Parks Partnership “Partnering to Preserve Arizona’s Crown Jewels” with Yavapai County.
Award of Excellence to Arizona State Historic Parks. This award is for achieving excellence in the interpretation of Arizona’s history and presentation of Arizona’s historic sites.
The Nature Conservancy awarded the agency the Morris K. Udall Award for outstanding conservation in the public sector.
