October 20, 2012: Anza Day
A living history presentation on Juan Bautista de Anza's life. Anza and his troops attend mass at Tumacacori mission and then ride up the Anza Trail from Tumacacori Mission and arrive in Tubac. Anza gives a presentation to the awaiting crowd on the journey that he, his troops and courageous settlers will begin to establish the Presidio at San Francisco in October 1775.
There were also programs for kids, live music, dancing and food vendors.
Event sponsors included: Anza Trail Coalition of Arizona, Tubac Chamber of Commerce, Tubac Historical Society, Tubac Rotary, and Tumacacori National Historical Park.
